Terms of Service

Effective date: June 20, 2026

1. What SteadyHands is

SteadyHands is a browser-based skill-conditioning platform designed to help medical and surgical students practise fine-motor, hand-eye coordination, and dexterity skills through gamified exercises. It is intended as a complement to supervised clinical training, simulation labs, and formal surgical education. SteadyHands is not a certified clinical assessment tool, is not a medical device, and does not confer any clinical qualification or competency certification.

2. Contracting party

These Terms of Service are a legal agreement between you and SteadyHands ("we", "us", or "our"). SteadyHands is the legal entity operating this platform and is the seller of the Pro subscription. By creating an account or continuing to use the platform, you are entering into a contract with SteadyHands.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use SteadyHands. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. Account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must not share your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Subscriptions and billing

SteadyHands offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Paddle, our payment provider. By subscribing you authorise Paddle to charge your payment method on the billing cycle you select. All prices are shown inclusive of applicable taxes where required by law.

6. Free trial

A 7-day free trial of Pro is available to new users who explicitly opt in. No payment method is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period, if you have not subscribed, your account reverts to the free tier automatically. You are not charged.

7. Cancellation

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time via the billing page in your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain Pro access until that date.

8. Refunds

Refund terms are described in our Refund Policy. Paddle acts as the merchant of record for all transactions and handles payment disputes on our behalf.

9. Acceptable use

You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, exploit, or attack the platform. You must not attempt to manipulate your account's subscription state, XP, or performance data through any means other than normal use of the app.

10. Intellectual property

SteadyHands retains all ownership rights in and to the platform, including its software, code, design, branding, documentation, and content ("our IP"). Your use of the platform does not grant you any licence or right to use our IP except as necessary to access the service within your account. You must not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our IP without our express written permission.

11. Disclaimer

SteadyHands is provided "as is." We make no warranty that use of the platform will improve clinical performance or surgical outcomes. Performance in SteadyHands games is not a predictor of real-world surgical ability.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SteadyHands and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

13. Paddle as merchant of record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Continued use of the platform after notice of changes constitutes acceptance.
